A poetic testimony on the adversities the Ma’ohi people undergo in times of contemporary colonization, portraying the aftermath of nuclear testing in French Polynesia, which caused violent breaks in the region’s social, economic and cultural history. But the Ma’ohi spirit is resilient, it resists and survives. Ma’ohi poet Flora Devatine ethereal words recapitulate and empower the voice of a people seeking the path of independence.
