Loco lucho

Mary Jiménez & 59' — 1998

My sister and I came to study in Belgium and we stayed. My mother died in Peru. My father was left alone. One year later, my father admonishes a young woman named Lady for letting her 4 year-old urinate in front of the house. A relationship begins – he is 65, she is 25. Some years later, my sister and I get a letter saying: « I have adopted Lady, because every time I go to the Andes, I find myself thinking that I could die and she has no place to go. By the way, they finally cleaned up the seafront that was so filthy. Other than that, I have nothing much to tell. » During the 25 years that I have been separated from my father. I’ve received his letters full of adventures, folly, and humour. This film is like a letter in return: a film made with him, in order to understand him, scold him… and love him.
