Author and director, born in Leiria, Portugal, expelled from the University of Lisbon at the age of 18 for having participated in the student revolt, fled the Salazar regime. Belgian by adoption since 1963, he has directed and co-directed numerous feature films (“Féminin, féminin” with Marie-France Pisier) and Belgian documentaries (“Les enfants du Juge”).
