The half frozen man

Anne Deligne & Daniel De Valck & 60' — 2002

A film in the shape of a series of musical promenades and encounters with children from the music schools of Tomsk, a small town on the banks of the Tom, a place of ice-covered pavements and traditional houses with ornately carved decoration. A film in the shape of conversations with deportees and the descendants of deportees, who – from Dosoyevsky to the Decembrists, Solzhenitsyn to Shalamov – have, when we look just beneath the surface, left a deep imprint on Siberian society.
