In 1948, four large and wealthy Belgian families sell all their possessions and board big ships headed for far-flung Chilean Patagonia in the opposite hemisphere… embarking on a journey from wich they intend never to return. Gabriel de Halleux is one of the patriarchs of the adventure. At the time, he’s nearly 50, with 9 children. One after another, Gabriel’s companions abandon the futureless, wind-swept, godforsaken hole.
