A documentary film as a musical road-movie which traces the wanderings of Derroll Adams, the banjoman with the tattooed hands, from his native Oregon to Antwerp, Belgium, with the Great Depression in the United States, the hunt for the « Red Witches » of Senator McCarthy, the Korean war, the beat generation and the hippy movement as a background. A portrait of a legendary folksinger, disciple of Woody Guthrie, beautiful banjo-picker, poet and talented painter who had a deep influence on generations of renowned artists.
