Moraes Cabral

Miguel Moraes Cabral is a director and sound engineer. He graduated in cinema from the Superior School of Theatre and Cinema in Lisbon. He also studied Performing Arts at the University of Nanterre (DEUG) and at the Louis Lumière School in Paris where he specialized in sound.

He has worked with various directors, including Pedro Costa, Marie Losier, Alain Raoult, Sérgio Trefaut, Sandro Aguilar, etc. His first feature film, Os caminhos de Jorge, received an honorable mention at the Doclisboa Festival 2013 and circulated in many international festivals. His latest short film O Homem de Trás-os-Montes was presented in the official selection at Locarno. In 2009, he was "young talent" at the Berlin festival (Talent campus 2009). In 2015, he was a member artist of the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid. From 2016, he gives workshops around sound and filmmaking including at the University of Grenoble, the FCSH University of Lisbon and the University Lusófona (Lisbon).
