The seeker

Philippe Cornet & 52' — 2005

American legist-anthropologistt Bill Haglund, reknowned for solving the Green Valley serial murders in the USA, has been living on the international disaster field for twelve years. His task, identifying missing people’s remains, allows families to mourn. The film follow him in Cyprus, still traumatized by the 1974 civil war, and in Nigeria, on the tracks of political activist Ken-Saro Wiwa’s murder. Above the investigations, the film is a portrait of a out-standard man. Haglund evocates his troubled youth in a poor family in Minesotta, and the key-episodes of his life : former Yougoslavia and Rwanda. With the end of the film comes the revelation of his own mother’s brutal death.
