The lucky star of Texas City

Pico Berkowitch & 52' — 1996

Every weekend, Duchesse, Tenderfood and Carole meet up in Texas City, a « western village » near Louvain. There they leave present day Belgium behind them and slip into the attire of some American Far West figure of 150 years ago. It isn’t that they play cowboys and Indians… they study in earnest the world of their dreams. These actors, anthropologists, historians… and just plain citizens make up a family, an unconditional clan whose existence helps them confront their other lives… lives in which they are truck drivers or subway employees. Their hobby has lost much of its aura these last twenty years. So today, what is left? … a sense of humour, a few regrets, but, above all, a grim determination not to give up.
