The film portrays the development of the production of a play being produced for the Festival of Avignon 84, focusing on the contents of the play. It shows the way the actors enter in the story, which relates an enigmatic confrontation between an ageing Malasian and a young man who is fascinated by him. Surrounding them, are both non-fictional and fictional characters: the young man’s sister, the father, the mother, those on whom this conflict will have profound effects, and also the producer… and, why not, someone from the audience as well.
