Land in sight tells the story of a few men and women who have made precariousness their lifestyle. The protagonists of the film live as if each day were their last, with a constant intensity, oscillating between the wonder of discovery and the unease of feeling misunderstood. Most of them work as seasonal fruit pickers, moving from Danish strawberries to French grapes to Valencia oranges. They create temporary communities on land lent by local farmers or occupied more or less legally. Then they leave. Sometimes they meet again, sometimes not. Sometimes they return for brief periods to the “civilized world,” where they are sometimes judged, sometimes admired for their inexhaustible desire for adventure. As if it were a game, these lost children let us into their world of contradictions, arrogance and dreams. Land in sight tells the story of a few men and women who have made precariousness their lifestyle.
