Phillippe Herreweghe, Et le verbe s'est fait chant

Sandrine Willems & 55' — 1999

Philippe Herreweghe is firstly the chorus leader who restored vigor and purity to baroque singing. He is also a conductor who is constantly delving into new repertoires, from romantic to contemporary. But most of all, he is the man who burns with zeal, fired by an incredible energy, and whose authority galvanizes musicians and audience alike. The film is a portrait of this many-sided man. It includes interviews, concerts, and rehearsals that take us from Bach’s cantatas to Beethoven’s “Ninth”.
