Portrait of a contemporary African artist living in Kinshasa « The Fallen Beauty ». Bodys Isek Kingelez (1948), « artiste-maquettiste », is an unclassified Congoleze artist. He gained international recognition with his huge scale-models from phatasy cities, made out of glue, paper, carton, plywood, etc. Though Kinshasa (C.D.R.) is a chaotic, obsolete metropolis, it is the setting of his artistic development.
