Produce a film about mistreated children? But how? Focus on the life of a mistreated child? Is it not just another form of violence? Fictionalise a real case? But isn’t every case a special one? The aim was to give an insight and a better idea of the question by treating the phenomenon both specifically and in the wider contact. « For a child’s smile » is a cinematographic portrayal of the mistreated child syndrome, viewed through the child and illustrated by: a clown and a puppet, a character from a fairy tale and glove puppets, mothers and fathers, well-known specialists, and dolls, dolls, and dolls… « For a child’s smile » is a film to inform as well as animated fiction.
